Scientific Research Institute of System Analysis (Russian Academy of Sciences) (In Russian: Научно исследовательский институт системных исследований РАН) was established by decree No. 1173 of the Presidium of the USSR Academy of Sciences in October 1, 1986. The basis of the Institute was the concept of solving complex applications by combining the methods of fundamental and applied mathematics and methods of practical work on computers. The Institute is a structural unit of the RAS and is a member of organizations of Computer Equipment and Information Technologies, which provides scientific-methodical and scientific-organizational management of the Institute. The main purpose of the Institute is to perform basic and applied research and development in nanotechnology, information technology, computing, physics and computer science. Director of SRISA is Vladimir Borisovich Betelin (Academician).
